The team behind Crynosaurs has launched an IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign for it. Crynosaurs: Collision Course (working title) will be an open-world sci-fi FPS game with dinosaurs and will be powered by CRYENGINE.
As the team noted, the visuals will improve for the Alpha, especially those for the dinosaurs and characters. Moreover, the dinosaurs skins right now are said to be placeholders.
Regarding the game’s story, here is what the team had to say:
“Without revealing too much of the story, you’ll be playing as a human from the 23rd century who during a space accident aboard a prison ship has traveled back in time 3 days before the extinction event which wiped out the dinosaurs. It will be a race for survival in a vast hostile prehistoric wilderness.
You will have to escape the planet before disaster strikes. Fortunately, a lot of spaceship debris is littered about with weapons, gear and items to assist you along the way. Unfortunately, many of your shipmates have survived and in these desperate times, will eliminate anyone who stands between them and survival. “
In case you’re wondering, no; this won’t be similar to ARK: Survival Evolved. In Crynosaurs: Collision Course there will be a beginning and an end, and the main story of the game will be on the short side(~3-6 hours, depending on difficulty). Still, the team claimed that each play through will have a different experience because very few things are actually scripted.
The team aims to raise $12K in a month via this campaign, and targets to reach the Alpha in approximately 4-6 months after funding comes in.
Oh, and there is also a tech demo that you can download from its IndieGoGo page (we’d already informed you about it, but still).
